Eclipse Season: Lunar Eclipse in Taurus

Happy Lunar Eclipse in Taurus!

Today at 6:01 AM ET we have the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus at 16°. Eclipse season can be a doozy as it brings about powerful endings and/or new beginnings. This is especially true when we have it close to a planet like Uranus, the planet of upheavals. What’s also interesting is that we have Election Day here in the States and our country is currently experiencing its first Pluto Return. There’s a lot that can be said about Pluto Returns, but short and sweet, there are elements of the country that will never be the same as there are drastic changes occurring— as we can see in many areas but especially in terms of democracy and what that even means anymore.

Below, I’m sharing the energy of this Lunar Eclipse as well as the Moon Journal Prompts to help you harness this powerful energy. Lunar Eclipses are about big endings, letting go, and receiving clarity from the last six months.

This Lunar Eclipse in Taurus grip and surrender to what is. What does leave us at this time was divinely orchestrated to do so. Also, it’s a time to get in tune with what is aligned with who we are at our core. In Human Design, the lunar eclipse will happen in Gate 1 called “the Creative— The Gate of Self-expression”. This Lunar Eclipse is taking us out of our comfort zones as it’s tightly conjunct with Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is all about shaking things loose and shaking things up. Taurus is a sign that loves predictability and Uranus will have none of that.

What’s predictable is too boring, too routine, and leads to complacency. Plus, right before the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite each other, the Sun and Mercury will conjoin one another which is called a “Cazimi”. This aspect happened on Monday and opens up opportunities to have necessary conversations which have most likely been sitting around in the murky still water of a river that’s been catching your gaze from your peripheral for days, maybe weeks. With the Sun and Mercury so close, it makes way for things to go better than anticipated though it will still be uncomfortable or challenging.

Mars in Gemini has officially stationed retrograde which means it’s time to retreat, review, refresh, and replenish before the next plan of action. Mars is the planet of assertion, action, and raw primal drive. The sign of Gemini deals with the dualities of life, just like the twins in its symbols. The mutable, airy, and communication-based properties of Gemini paired with the boldness of Mars can manifest as fighting words, injuries from moving too quickly, or eating your words. With Mars squaring Neptune in Pisces, Neptune has the upper hand as it’s at home in that sign. Neptune places a veil that can deceive us if we seek to act from our conscious mind instead of tuning into our body’s intelligence, our intuition.

Use discernment and uphold your boundaries with yourself, people, spaces, and things.

Checking In With The Collective Energy

When I come up with the questions for the Moon Journal Prompts, I take into account the energy of the planets as well as the Collective energy via Oracle cards or Tarot cards.

For this lunation, I decided to use the Sacred Destiny Oracle Deck and the Boriken Oracle Deck.

Sacred Destiny Oracle Deck:

Miracles: Do you believe in miracles?

It sounds cliche, but do you really believe in miracles? Miracles don’t always happen in grandiose ways. Most times miracles are an accumulation of small details coming together. The more open we are to receive, the easier it is for good to come to us. Sometimes we are fixated on a certain thing that we deem would be a miracle. What if you could allow yourself to be surprised and experience delight in the mundane? Expressing gratitude for the things we take for granted like our breath, our sight, our hearing, our limbs, our vision, our creativity… all of these are blessings.

Community: Another rainbow!

What does it mean to be in community with someone, with others? Sometimes, especially on your spiritual journey, you will find yourself feeling like you aren’t on the same page as people around you. You may be feeling a push away from the friends you’ve had for years and even having to love family from afar. If you haven’t found your “tribe” yet, you may be on your way to linking up with them. One thing to remember is that even if you don’t have physical support, you have spiritual support from your ancestors and spirit guides.

Solitude: Finding joy in your own company.

There comes a time when you’ll need to draw back for your own replenishment and this is one of those times. Eclipse energy is intense and you may be feeling emotions that aren’t even yours. It’s going to be key to energetically “empty out” especially if you are a highly sensitive person. Getting clear on what is your own feelings versus those around you is going to be so important. If you are aware of what’s happening, you are better equipped to find respite in the highs and lows of this energy. Do what you can to take care of your spiritual hygiene and stay hydrated.

I feel these cards together give a very important reminder— don’t jump to conclusions and don’t move in haste. This is a time when we don’t have all the clarity necessary to make big decisions. Right now, it’s important to observe, reflect and review. Also, this is a great time to kick a habit or create a healthier relationship with your mind, body, and spirit. Where do you need to add better boundaries? What goals have you been trying to hit but have been distracted or lacking discipline? An opportunity awaits you and you will want to have the proper structures in order to support you.

You are the creator of your reality.

If you believe your life is shitty, it will remain that way. If you believe your life is beautiful, it will become even more beautiful. What you consume you become and that goes for thoughts, beliefs, and food.

Moon journal prompts

Use these prompts to journal with or meditate on. If you’re like me, retreating to a quiet space in your home, putting on some background music like solfeggio frequencies or my new favorite, “Faith’s Hymn” by Beautiful Chorus, and lighting a candle or incense helps calm the mind and allows you to tune in to what’s trying to get your attention.
